So sad to hear about Eric's passing today...I wish I would've known in time to attend his funeral. Eric made a big impression on my life, at a time when I was just starting my contracting career in the Dept. of Defense. He taught me to question what I thought I knew....and to never give contractors something without adequate consideration for the Government. Those lessons have stayed with me for many years. Eric, you will be missed. Thank you for generously sharing your knowledge with us.

Dear Ottinger family and friends,
We're very sorry for your loss. Eric was a cheerful presence in our Fairlington Church family. He contributed to many a Bible study and group discussion from his trove of acquired knowledge and his life experiences. Steadfast is a word that comes to mind when we think of Eric. He also had a glimmer in his eyes that would put a little spring in your step after conversation. We're sorry we may not be able to make it to visitation and services, but please know that Eric made a difference in our lives, too, and he will be remembered. Eric has now gone to tell stories in the great congregation, that cloud of witnesses, where he'll find new friends.
