James (Jim) Patrick Lamb
Jim passed on peacefully at his home in Alexandria, VA on September 13, 2017. Jim embodied a spirit of kindness, generosity and love for his family, friends and community. He was born on July 18, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA and served in the U.S. Army from 1951-53 including a tour in Korea. He received a BA from Catholic University in Washington, DC, and an MA in Mathematics from George Washington University. He and his father-in-law, Joseph Juliano, were builders of numerous homes in Northern Virginia. He later joined the U.S. General Services Administration where he spent 27 years in public service.

He retired in 1996, and worked as a dedicated volunteer at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for over a decade. Jim is remembered in two scholarship funds: The James and Joan Lamb Scholarship at George Mason University, and The James Patrick Lamb Scholarship Fund at St. Stephens/St. Agnes School. Jim leaves a legacy of strength, love, hope and deep faith in God.

Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan Juliano Lamb; son, Joseph Julian Lamb; son, James Gerard (Jim) Lamb (Justine Coffey); grandchildren Elizabeth Hurlock Lamb, Aidan Kenneth Lamb, Trinity Grace Lamb, and Ethan Francis Cannistra; and his sister Elizabeth (Betty) Lamb Piatkowski.

Family and Friends will be received on Friday, September 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 West Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA 22302. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 16 at 8:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 3513 N Street, NW in Washington DC 20007. Burial will take place at Fairfax Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, in memory of Jim, to the Parkinson Foundation of the National Capital Area, 8830 Cameron Street, #201, Silver Spring, MD, 20910.
