Ann Lorene (Metras) Ward

Ann Lorene Ward passed away peacefully on Monday, October 19, 2020, surrounded by her family.  She battled pancreatic cancer and stroke gracefully and with courage.  She was an inspiration to everyone who met her.

Lori was born on November 20, 1954 in La Rochelle, France and moved to the United States in 1957.  She grew up in Annandale, VA and graduated from Falls Church High School in 1973.  She fell in love with Michael Ward and his daughter, Charolette and they settled down and expanded their family.  Lori and Mike had four more children.  She was a devoted mother to Charolette, Christopher Michael, Teresa Lorene, Timothy Metras, and Cynthia Marie.  She drove a school bus for Fairfax County Public Schools for many years and worked as bookkeeper for Mike’s company.  Her favorite job, however, was caring for her children and grandchildren.

Lori is preceded in death by her sister, Patricia McElwain, and her parents, Guy and Marie Metras and her grandson, Brody Ward.  She is survived by her husband, Michael, her sister Christel Purks (Dave), her step daughter Charolette Coffey (Patrick), her children Christopher Ward (Alicia), Teresa Keyes (Jason), Timothy Ward, and Cynthia Jackson (Marina).  She is also survived by her nine devoted grandchildren, Lauren Bustle, Neal Coffey, Hailey and Christopher Ward, Cameron, Caden, and Caleb Keyes, and Elizabeth and Parker Jackson as well as three great grandchildren, Jaxon, Easton, and Beau.
