Of Alexandria, Virginia and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware died peacefully at home in Alexandria on Sunday, February 25, 2018, surrounded by his family. Born in Bayonne, New Jersey, on October 13, 1929, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Mary Ann, in 2016. He was the loving father of Kathryn Keller Geraghty (John), Robert J. Keller (Eileen), Jane Keller Mozingo, Mary Keller Goodyear (James) and John B. Keller (Alicia). He was the proud grandfather of sixteen grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A scholarship football player at Georgetown University, Bob was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps after his graduation in 1951. He was a highly decorated officer, serving his country with honor and distinction in both Korea and Vietnam. He also served as a ranking member of the U.S. military delegation to NATO and as Chief of Staff, 3rd Marine Division. Bob retired in 1979 and became the founder and president of MKI Systems. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria, Virginia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at The Basilica of St. Mary, 310 S. Royal Street, Alexandria, Virginia on Friday, March 2, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
