Tribute

ELEANOR BETTY LOUD (PESTER)

Eleanor Loud, age 90, departed this life after a brief illness on June 1, 2020.

Eleanor was known as Ellie to her friends, and affectionately, as Honey to her grandchildren and their children.  She was born February 26, 1930 in the Town of Scott, Lincoln County, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Kurt and Nora (Kuether) Pester on the family farm.  She married Gene C Loud in 1951 and they settled in Richland, WA.  He preceded her in death in August 2008 after 57 years of marriage.  Ellie was a wife, mother, and homemaker.   She was an excellent baker who was always looking for new recipes to try.  She enjoyed collecting dolls, flower arranging, and quilting.  In 1988 Gene and Ellie moved to Clinton, TN where they delighted in tending their large lot, which included a garden where they grew blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and grapes.

Ellie is survived by her four children; Linda Davidson, Atlanta, GA, Carol Boehm, Callaway, MD, John Loud, Fort Collins, CO, and Annie Loud (John Becker), Arlington, VA;  four grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Boyd, Mechanicsville, MD, Lydia (Matt) Morrison, Arvada, CO, Edward (Amy) Boehm, Helena, AL, and Celia Loud, Denver, CO; and seven great-grandchildren, Abigail, Regan, and Maggie Boyd, Bonnie and Molly Morrison, and Jackson and Emma Grace Boehm.  She is also survived by her brothers Fred (Carol) Pester, Merrill, WI and Donald Pester (Pat Olson), Savage, MN and her friend of 45 years, Marilyn Pyle of Wichita, KS, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Besides her husband and parents, Ellie was preceded in death by four brothers; Richard, Gus, William, and Roland Pester, and by her sister, Emily Zemke.

The family wishes to thank the staff at The Fountains at Washington House for their outstanding care of our mother.  We also extend our deepest appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of Inova Hospital, Alexandria VA for their heroic efforts during her final illness.

Due to COVID-19, a service will be scheduled at a later date.
