Elizabeth "Betty" Ardisana

January 27, 1927 ~ October 23, 2022 (age 95) 95 Years Old

Tribute

Beloved mother and grandmother Elizabeth “Betty” Ardisana of West Bloomfield, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home on October 23, 2022. She was 95.

Her life was filled with love and laughter, and she is remembered by family and friends for her zest for life, her indomitable spirit, and her love for animals – especially dogs. Even as her illness progressed, the sight of a dog coming into her home would bring the familiar twinkle to her eyes and radiant smile to her face. She was first and foremost a family woman. The moments she truly relished were those when her entire family could be together at Thanksgiving, Christmas, or other occasions. She also enjoyed spending time with dear friends in Cambridge, Wisconsin; Haines City (Grenelefe), Florida; and in Michigan.

A graduate of Bowie State College with a bachelor’s degree in political science, she worked as a logistics officer at the National Security Agency at Ft. Meade, Maryland. Her favorite job, though, was as wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Betty was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Brig Gen Bernard Ardisana of the U.S. Air Force. She is survived by three children, John B. Ardisana (Betsy), Lizabeth Ardisana (Greg Rouke), and Thomas M. Ardisana (Karen Butler); four grandchildren, Carey Benander (Ben), Jack Ardisana (Lynn), Greg Ardisana (Amy), and Matthew Ardisana; and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Arlington National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit, 2661 Greenfield Rd., Dearborn, MI 48120.
