There is a lot less beauty and light in the world today for the family and friends of Georgia Lee Oden, 82, who died of natural causes on January 9, 2021 at her home in Alexandria, VA. A kind and gentle beauty, Georgia was much beloved by family and friends, who could always find warmth, comfort, and hospitality in her home. She was an avid and creative gardener, having received a City Beautification Award for her home in the Rosemont neighborhood of Alexandria and attaining her Master Gardener Certification in her retirement years. She was a staunch lover and rescuer of animals and never without at least one pet at home. Born September 10, 1938 in Shawnee, OK, Georgia was preceded in death by her parents Jacqueline and Frank Crawley, Sr. and her brothers The Rev. Jerry Crawley and Frank Crawley, Jr. Georgia attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where she met J. Henry Oden, whom she married in 1960. She is survived by her devoted husband Henry, three loving daughters, Lorena (Alex Curtis), Cindy, and Marsha (William Lutz), three grandchildren, Cori and Kalin Lutz and Jackson Curtis, and her pampered cat Butch.
