Janet Martha Filer

Janet Filer, a retired secretary from the Institute Defense Analyses, passed away on September 14 of natural causes at age 91. Ms. Filer grew up in Somers, CT, and graduated from Rockville High School in CT. She worked 18 years at the Eastern States Farmers’ Exchange in West Springfield, MA prior to relocating to Washington, D.C. for an overseas assignment with the Central Intelligence Agency. Upon returning to D.C., she began her career with IDA. Ms. Filer was an active volunteer in Arlington County, with the American Red Cross, and in her residential Fairlington community. She is survived by a nephew, a niece, and other relatives, and many beloved friends.
