Joann Elizabeth Miller

Died on November 20, 2018 at the age of 91. A longtime Alexandria resident, she was a champion for equal rights, an advocate for Alexandria's most vulnerable citizens, and a key member of the Alexandria Democratic Committee.
 
Joann is survived by her children, Michael Miller, Maria Van Horn (Tom), and Adrienne Miller; and grandchildren, Alexandra, Eric, and Rebecca Van Horn. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Edward A. Miller, Jr.
 
Visitation December 6, 5 to 8 p.m., Everly Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA, Funeral Service December 7, 11 to 12 noon, St. Rita's Catholic Church, 3815 Russell Road, Alexandria, VA.
