Kathryn McIntyre Adams

Kathyrn McIntyre Adams passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2020. 

Known as Kitty, she lived most of her life in Alexandria, Virginia. She was born February 22, 1925, in Venton, Maryland, and grew up in Princess Anne, Maryland. She moved to the Washington area in 1950, when she accepted a job with the Central Intelligence Agency that took her to Tokyo and Okinawa. She worked at law firms in Wilmington, Delaware and Alexandria, and as an account executive at Ramada Inn Hotel Old Town. She was an active volunteer in elementary schools, church and arts groups, and with Adult Probation and Parole in Alexandria.

She was predeceased by her husband Richard V. W. Adams Jr. She is survived by her son, Richard V.W. Adams III and his wife Karen Otterbourg Adams; her daughter, Allison Briggs Adams and her husband, Robert C. Allen; and her stepdaughter, Judith Adams Stouffer. She has five grandchildren: Spencer R. Stouffer (Kit), Jennifer Stouffer Newton (Trey), Richard V.W. Adams IV (Casey), Caroline Adams and Madeline Adams Allen. She has five great-grandchildren: Sally, Spencer and Sullivan Stouffer, and Jesse and Dru Newton.
