Tribute

Keith Brian McCoubrey, 68, of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2023, after quietly battling a cancer diagnosis. He was born on April 7, 1955, in Alexandria, Virginia, to Ann and Alden McCoubrey. Keith was a fighter throughout his life and battled multiple health diagnoses with courage, strength, resilience, and relentlessness.

Keith had a successful career as a courier at the Prince William County Department of Public Works. Prior to that, he worked as a courier at Velocity Express, a truck driver at Mazo Lerch, and a printing press operator at The Washington Post.

Keith had a passion for music, horse racing, and the New York Giants. He enjoyed trips to the mountains, going fishing, and taking his daughter, Kelly, everywhere, from museums to amusement parks. He loved to reminisce about the past and his memories with his siblings and friends. Most of his stories involved his best friend Jamie Baker, Jamie's sister, Annette, aka "Sissy," and their parents, who thought of Keith as one of their adopted sons. Keith was known for making people laugh and bringing joy to those around him.

Keith is survived by his daughter, Kelly Ann McCoubrey, his brother Robert Lee McCoubrey, his sister Kimberly Ann Owen, his best friend Denise Karen Reynolds, and his cats Mango and Lucy. He was preceded in death by his mother Ann McCoubrey, his father Alden Alva McCoubrey, his brother Arthur Loring Williams, and his brother Richard Scott McCoubrey.

A celebration of Keith's life will be held on June 17, 2023. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Fancy Cats & Dogs Rescue Team at PO BOX 182, Herndon, VA 20172-0182, or by calling 703-961-1056, emailing info@fancycats.org, or visiting Facebook.com/fancycats or www.fancycats.org
