Luis Javier Lopez

Luis J. Lopez, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, unexpectedly passed away on January 6th, 2021 at the young age of 38. Although he was born in Managua, Nicaragua, Luis spent most of his life growing up in Northern Virginia, where he graduated from Mt. Vernon High School, Class of 2000, and received his associates degree in Business Administration at Northern Virginia Community College. On May 20th, 2006, Luis married his best friend and soulmate, Gaby Lopez, and together they raised three kids, Luis, Mason, and Madison. In July 2020, Luis and his family made Landover, Maryland their new home. 

Luis’s career began with working for the family business in the landscape industry. He later went on to work for Brightview for the last 8 years as a Market Account Manager in the DC Metro area. Luis dedicated his life to be a hard-working man to provide the most for the ones he loved. 

Family always came first to Luis. He was a devoted father to his kids and no matter how busy life got he would be there for them. Luis was a dedicated Washingtonian sports fan, especially for the Washington Nationals. As a family, they enjoyed watching and attending games together. To his kids, Luis will forever be their super hero and role model. He will always be known for his infectious smile and laugh, his humor, his positive attitude and always putting others before himself. We will never forget the exceptional man he was and will continue to honor his memory. 

He is survived by his wife, Gaby, and three kids, Luis, Mason, and Madison, as well as his father and mother, Luis and Margarita, and his two brothers, Patrick and Alex, his sister-in-laws, Gema and Alissa, and niece and nephew, Emily and Patrick.
