Marie (LaDue) Croft

MARIE CROFT died January 2, 2020 at Brandywine Living, Alexandria, VA.  She was 81 years of age.

Born August 2, 1938 in Peekskill, NY to Bernard and Marie Schottle Fassnacht, she attended Assumption School through 9th grade and graduated from Peekskill High School in 1955.

On April 7, 1956 she married George T. LaDue at Assumption Church in Peekskill and along with him operated LaDue’s Dairy until Mr. LaDue’s death in January of 1974. 

Marie was employed by Hendrick Hudson School District from 1974 to 1978 and Westchester County Department of Probation from 1978 to 1995.  She was a volunteer at Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Peekskill/Cortlandt, NY.

Married to William A. Croft on September 15, 1984, she is survived by three sons:  George (Susan) LaDue of New Market, MD, Stephen (Kim) LaDue of Fort Mill, SC, Terence LaDue of Cary, NC, two daughters:  Jean Neale of Hopewell, NY, Ann (James Cahill) Croft of Alexandria, VA and son-in-law Douglas Ferony of Peekskill, NY.  Also survived by eleven grandchildren; Cynthia (Todd) Striegel; Katherine (Joe) Pancione; Valerie Powell, Jennifer, George, Gregory, and Jonathan LaDue, Jeanine (James) Gaskins; Sophia, Darren Ferony and Violet Cahill, and by 6 great-grandchildren Trevor, Ryan and Evan Striegel; Semaina and Amias Gaskins and Brooke Powell. 

Also survived by a sister Hilda and brother-in-law William Durr of Cortlandt Manor, NY.

Marie was predeceased by an infant son, September 1969; her husband George T. LaDue, January 1974; son-in-law Arthur Neale, December 1989, daughter Joan (LaDue) Ferony, September 1998, and brother Francis Fassnacht, August 2015.
