Marilyn D. Spille

Marilyn Dunn Spille, 88, died Sunday, September 25, 2022, in the Garden Ridge memory care unit at Greenspring with Hank, her loving husband by her side. Marilyn was born in Chicago, Illinois to John J. and Frances (Guenther) Dunn and resided in Illinois and Wisconsin before moving to Virginia for the last 48 years of her life. The last 12 years of her life were spent at Greenspring Senior Living where she was an active volunteer and involved in numerous activities.

Marilyn is survived her husband of 65 years, Henry (Hank) Spille, her four children and their spouses: Anne and Steve Himelfarb, Sue and Mark Walker, Chris and Tina Spille, and Dave and Beth Spille, as well as seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, her sister and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

She graduated from Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart in Lake Forest, Illinois in 1952 and from St. Francis School of Nursing in Peoria, Illinois in 1955. After graduation, she was a successful pediatric nurse for more than 30 years.

Marilyn will be especially remembered for her loving nature, kind heart, and infectious smile. Her favorite memories involved celebrating life with family and friends.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2pm ET on October 10, 2022, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church located at 7600 Old Keene Mill Rd, Springfield, VA 22152.
