Mary Lou Eagney

Mary Lou Eagney, 83, of Alexandria, strong, dedicated, and hard-working for nearly all her adult life, passed away peacefully at Virginia Hospital Center on November 28, 2022. She was surrounded by family, son Brian, daughter-in-law Carla, and nieces Amy and Ginny.

She was an employee of CNA for 23 years and was most recently Project Administrator for her Division. She adored her loving fur babies Jazzy and Jasper and loved her garden and flowers. She absolutely loved her family, enjoyed researching family genealogy, and was very patriotic in flying her American flag. She was a supporter and contributor to several animal shelters and welfare organizations and a huge fan of THE Ohio State Buckeyes!

She was preceded in death by her husband, John M Eagney; Father Harry E Townsend; Mother Martha L Daw; and Step Father James E Daw.

She is survived by her son Brian A Hughes of Elkridge, MD; Daughter-in-law Carla D Hughes; Big Brother Harry M Townsend of Chesapeake, VA; Sister-in-law Sandra L Townsend; Nieces Tracey A Pascal, husband Randy; Carrie L Johnson, husband Neil; Amy S Sowder, husband Scott; Ginny L Townsend Payne, husband Scott; and Special family friend Rocky Orfila, who to Mary Lou was like a daughter.
