Morella Ann McCaleb

November 7, 1960 ~ July 13, 2019 (age 58) 58 Years Old

Tribute

Morella “Ann” “Moe” McCaleb passed peacefully in her sleep on July 13, 2019. She was 58 years old. She fought hard and bravely after her cancer diagnosis. Her daughter, Aimee sat by her side daily and knew her mother was stronger than anyone else she knew.

Ann was born in Alexandria, Va to parents, Thomas Joseph “Joe” McCaleb Jr. and Norma Loretta Knight. She was the youngest of four children. She had two older sisters and one older brother. Ann outlived her brother Tommy who passed away in 1973 and her sister Bonnie who passed away in 2003. She also outlived both her parents. Joe passed away in 1987 and Norma passed away in 2001.

Her family’s roots run deep in Alexandria. Ann spent most of her life in the area. She graduated from TC Williams High School and went on to study computers and technology.

Ann was big on family and friendship. She loved writing, music and reading. She kept strong friendships all through her life. She loved when all the people important in her life were under one roof.

She liked cruising in her car. She adored being a grandma. She loved chocolate. She watched the Golden Girls regularly. And she always knew the answers to the questions on Jeopardy.

Ann was a loyal daughter who loved her parents fiercely. She was also an animal lover. She was a hard worker and had a sentimental soul. And funny. She was so darn funny.

Ann is survived by her daughter Aimee and granddaughters, Makayla, Leah and Zoe. They were the greatest loves of her life.

She is also survived by her son-in-law Dustin, her sister, Sandy, her nieces and nephews, Caren, Theresa, Nicholas, Amber, Jessica, Billy and Bobbie Jo. And lifelong friends Bonnie, Debbie and Tish.

Ann was a second mother to many. She was a confidant. She was kind and faithful. And she will be missed every single day.

Ann loved God. And there is comfort in the fact that she is with him, and with her mother, father, sister and brother.
