Tribute

Robert C. Reis Jr. died on September 26 from lymphoma, first diagnosed in January, 2017. He was born to Robert C. Reis and Margaret Wulftange Reis on May 8, 1944 at Stewart US Army Air Corps Base in New York State. He was raised in St. Louis, Missouri where he attended St. Louis University High and St. Louis University. He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 55 years, Ninette Knudsen Reis, his daughters, Katherine Reis Williams of Arlington, Virginia, Sarah Reis Roddis, his son-in-law, Thomas Roddis, two grandchildren, William Roddis and Jane Roddis of Edina, Minnesota, his sister, Nancy Vennard (Wayne), and his brother Mark Reis (Christine). 

In 1967, Bob joined the Foreign Service and served in Berlin, Germany; Mogodischu, Somalia; Lusaka, Zambia; and Tokyo, Yokohama, and Sapporo, Japan. His final overseas assignment was as Deputy Chief of Mission in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. While serving in Washington, he worked primarily on economic and East Asian affairs. In retirement, he worked on document declassification at the State Department.

 In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or DACOR Bacon House Foundation

Funeral Mass and burial in St. Louis on October 25 and celebration of life in Washington, DC, at a later date.
