Ruth Rodriguez Mangente was born on March 24, 1957 in Victorias, Negros Occidental, Philippines. She passed away in INOVA Alexandria Hospital on April 9, 2018 from respiratory failure related to her chronic dermatomyositis.

She is survived by her husband of almost 40 years, Oscar L. Mangente, Jr., her only child Fredda R. Mangente, and her two favorite grandchildren Alfred Faustino and Faith Riley.

Before her illness, she loved to go fishing with her husband and enjoyed cookouts with family and friends. She also loved babysitting her two grandchildren Alfred and Faith. She was devoted to the Most Holy Rosary. She touched everyone's heart with her faith in God and endurance as she was battling with her disabling disease that gradually weakened her muscles for breathing. 

A funeral service will be held at Everly Wheatley Funeral Home in Alexandria, Virginia on Saturday, April 14 at 4 p.m. with a visitation from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to follow.
