Sok Hui Spencer

July 29, 1947 ~ January 28, 2024 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Tribute

This is a tribute to and preserves the legacy of Sok Hui Spencer and captures what made her special.

“When we lose someone we love, we must learn to love without them, but to live with the love they left behind.”

On the morning of January 28, 2024, Sok Hui Spencer passed away peacefully at the age of 76.  Sok Hui was born in South Korea on July 29, 1947. She met her husband Theodore (Ted) Spencer while he was serving in the United States Air Force and they married on February 9, 1968, in Seoul, Korea.

Sok Hui was preceded in death by her mom, who we are certain was there at the gates of Heaven to welcome her precious daughter home.

Sok Hui is survived by her husband, Ted, her daughter Sabrina (Rich) and their children, Sarah and Rick.  Her daughter Sophia and her daughter Soleil.  Her brother John (Sarah) and their children, Gloria (Young Won), Krysten (Sam), and Peter (Katherine). Her brother Brian (Kimberly) and their children, Rebekah (Danny), and Andrew.

For the past twenty-five years, Sok Hui has struggled with illness but always remained tough.  She made up her mind many years ago that, “Tough times don’t last, but tough people do”.  She was determined to get better, to never stop fighting, and her indomitable spirit kept her pushing through the pain.  When many others would have broken, Sok Hui stayed strong.

Sok Hui was dedicated and faithful in her relationship with God and continued praying to Him even on her last day. Through her, we witnessed a woman of faith, strength, and dedication as a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and daughter of God.

She loved the Lord and in her early years, she devoted her time and talents as a mentor for young women of her culture.  She was always willing to share her testimony and talk to what it meant to be a follower of Christ in a broken society.  Sok Hui was a living example of what it meant to live in Christ, to family, to friends, and to those she came in touch with.

A message to our amazing and beautiful, Sok Hui:

Even though we no longer see you, in our minds you still live on. Your presence we miss, your memory we treasure, loving you will be always and forgetting you will be never.

We miss your big smile, your laughter, your friendship, and your loving and thoughtful ways.

Yesterday is today, and today is forever.  You will always be in our hearts.

May you rest in peace, we love you, and we miss you so much.

The family welcomes the gathering of family and friends to grieve, remember, celebrate, and honor Sok Hui.
