Tribute

Timothy James McConchie (“Timmy / Tim / Timmy Mac”)

(Age 65)

Of Alexandria, VA, passed away February 24, 2021 after an extended battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. In the period leading up to his passing, Timmy received visits from multiple family and friends and was surrounded by love in his final days.

Timmy never met a stranger. He was always the life of the party, making fast friends across all walks of life. A lifelong fan of all sports, particularly baseball and basketball (he had natural talent in both), he followed and supported all of the Washington area sports teams — particularly the Nationals. Some of his greatest friendships and lifelong bonds with closest friends were forged on those teams from his youth and endured until the very end.

He was also a devoted dog dad over the years. Many of you will remember Max, Mason, and Murphy and how much he doted on those three.

He loved his family deeply and his greatest joy was spending time with them. He was fiercely loyal — no questions asked — and was a compassionate source of support in other family members’ time(s) of need.

Timmy was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Neff and Billie McConchie. He was also preceded in death by his great love, Liz. Survivors include his brothers: Michael (Lee) of Raleigh, NC, Phil (Bonnie) of Dewey Beach, DE, nephews: Marty of Springfield, VA, Troy (Jennifer) of Lexington, KY, and Erik of Raleigh, NC, grandnieces and nephews: Ben and Tally (Greenville, SC) and Claire (Lexington, KY), and numerous other family members.

A celebration of Timmy’s life will be held in Alexandria, VA sometime in the next 2-3 months. The family will notify people directly and also make use of Timmy’s social media accounts to broadcast those details once they have been finalized.

We’ll miss you, Timmy Mac. You were a lot of things — forgettable isn’t one of them. Rest in peace.

With love,

The McConchie Family
