William Ellsworth Huff, Jr.

William E. Huff, Jr., “Bill,” passed from his earthly life on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at age 90.  He was born on September 4, 1927, to William and Bertha Huff in Alberta, Canada.  He took a lot of pride in his Navy years as a Commissaryman and loved sharing stories from those days.  He spent most of his adult life in Alexandria, VA where he retired from his career as an Assistant Geologist at the U.S. Geological survey. His work life spanned 80 years with a job selling newspapers on the corner at age 10 for his family in MD and ended with mowing 3 acres faithfully for his family until age 90 in Locust Grove, VA with many, many jobs in between.  He was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Anna Louise Clemens, and his second wife of 18 years, Mona Ida Afsensky.  He is survived by his step son, Galen Danis, and his son, Biff Huff, from his marriage to Anna and also Biff’s 2 children, his grandchildren, Joel and Ivy.  He was predeceased by 2 of his younger brothers, Lane Huff and Elwood Huff and is survived by his youngest brother, Eugene Huff.  He dearly loved his family and left not only those mentioned, but so many more with a treasure of memories and stories to share.  He was one-of-a-kind and will be missed very much.

A Graveside Interment Ceremony with military honors is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at Mount Comfort Cemetery (Please click the 'Service Details' tab for directions), 6600 South Kings Highway, Alexandria, VA 22306, followed by a Celebration of Life Gathering from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at Saint Lukes Episcopal Church, 8009 Fort Hunt Rd, Alexandria, VA  22308 ( the corner of Fort Hunt and Wellington Rd. Due to the commute of many and time of day, we will have lunch first, followed by a eulogy and time of sharing, then dessert.
