On Friday, February 16, 2018, in Alexandria, Virginia, Alphretta Peyton passed away surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a beloved mother and is survived by her devoted daughters, son-in-law, grandchildren, siblings, loving extended family and a host of close friends. In her later years, she lived with her daughter, Julia Peyton, son-in-law, Darren LeMaster, and precious grandson, Henry LeMaster. She was born in Monticello, Mississippi and spent the majority of her adult life in Tacoma, Washington, where she worked as a high school counselor and enjoyed mentoring young adults. She was also an avid reader and prolific author of devotional texts who took delight in a second career working at Tacoma’s Lighthouse Christian Bookstore.
