Betty Lee was a friend through ACCA. I always admired her, and loved her kind words for everyone and the enthusiastic, spunky way she approached everything. I especially knew her through her CROP Walk work and her leadership in providing lunches for Rebuilding Together/Christmas in April volunteers. My condolences to all of you in her family.

Betty Lee came into our lives as our grandfather’s second wife. Although the families were joined already through bloodlines on the Davis side, they were now joined together in a different way. Betty Lee’s obvious love of life and her joy and generosity shone out with her wonderful care and partnership with our grandfather, allowing him to enjoy his later years in comfort and travel and learning. Her energy and enthusiasm kept the both of them active and vibrant for many years. After his passing, I was happy to continue to visit and communicate with Betty Lee, keep her posted on our lives, and hear about hers as well. A lovely lady who had a long, full and loving life. We will miss her letters full of positive notes and good wishes. Sue K and the cousins.

Betty Lee and my mother were first cousins (their mothers being sisters), who literally grew up together through the many summers they spent on the old Ritter farm in Middletown, Virginia. That family tie has remained strong over the years, much to the joy and benefit of my siblings, my family and me. I never met a more spiritual, loving, compassionate, caring, adventurous and energetic person than Betty Lee. She deeply loved her family, her friends and neighbors, her church family, her “school kids”, and her volunteer activities, and always made time for them all. She loved the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia and the United States, and their history and natural beauty, and she loved learning, sharing and talking about her family, her state and her country. A wise person once wrote "your life is about all the people around you, all the people you touch, all the people you impact, all the people you influence, all the people you love, and all the people who love you." Betty Lee very much epitomized this approach to life. While Betty Lee will be greatly missed, we celebrate her wonderful life and our blessing to be a part of it. God bless and rest in peace, Betty Lee.

I have so many fond memories of times spent with my friend Betty Lee. We went to church together and drove school buses together. In later years, she introduced me to Elder-Hostel travel and we enjoyed a few trips together with other girlfriends. Despite our geographical distance, we managed to stay in touch and keep our friendship going. I will miss her.

Betty was an Angel on earth to me. I will always remember your kind words to me when I came into Lincolnia UMC.
As a youth leader I would often listen to how young people had witnessed God In their lives and if I were asked I would have to say Betty Leah of course:) I am greatful to have known you! May God’s grace surround your family with love in this sad time. Love, Debbie
