To my infrequent roommate from Brandon Avenue – of so long ago. You taught me how to play chess – well. You gave me an appreciation for a subtle, but needle-sharp sense of humor. Your wry smile and muffled chuckle, always perfectly placed. Since those days, whenever the hand has moved the white pawn to Queen-4, I’ve always silently said to myself, Tim. Alas, I thought we’d do one more game. Maybe later. Rest in peace.

Tim and I were married for 40 years. We have a daughter Erin, and son Jamie who is married with a little boy James. They are expecting a little girl in June.
